Corvette diner is totally awesome, but the wait can be kinda long, and it's a little to crazy for some people. The Venetian (in Point Loma) has the best Italian food and the setting is fantastic. I used to go there when I was little, cause it's also a great place for kids.

Jessica is 100% on the money! Corvette Diner is fantastic, the waiters are fun and goofy (they toss bubble gum at you), and the food is actually really good! Corvette diner is up in Hillcrest.

If you're more in the mood for Pizza, Pizza Nova has places in Hillcrest and near the airport on Harbor Drive. They have salads and pasta as well.

For Mexican sit-down, try Miguel's, which is FAMOUS for their Jalapeno white sauce. Miguel's has places on Scott St near Harbor drive, and on Coronado Island.

For a beach-like place, try World Famous in Pacific Beach. Try the Brie Cheese appetizer.

For chinese, how about up at UTC, PF Chang's? It's delicious.

All of these are places with entres that run about $10 to $15, with Corvette Diner at the low end, price-wise.

The Corvette Diner is a lot of fun. You should be able to take a 9 year old just about to any sit-down type place, well unless they don't know how to behave properly. Just about any of the casual sit-down dinner places have a children's menu and therefore those are probably decent places to go.

Corvette Diner or Buca de peppa is a good choice, or you could take her to a Korean BBQ restaurant where you cook your own meat right at your table. There are a few of these on Convoy. A Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant where they serve those hot pots/dinner with chopsticks could be a good experience for her.

I would say either Fuddruckers or Corvette Diner.
Fuddruckers has a great atmosphere and will appeal to your boyfriend because of the great rock decorations.
The Corvette Diner is definitely kid friendly, and the waitresses make it a blast.

I like Pat and Oscars. It's great food, and if the kid is picky, they have all kinds of food. Great breadsticks. I'm an east coaster but everytime work takes me to SD, I go to P&Os. Try it.
