I don't think there are any definitive studies out there, but I'm one who firmly believes that any concentrated form of heavy chemicals are carcinogens. I find it unsettling that so many women are getting lung cancer when they've never smoked before (or hung out around second-hand smoke). I truly believe it's because women use so many different cleaning products, as well as hair and beauty sprays. I always try to go natural -- why take the chance? Check out products made by Method, Seventh Generation, Meyers, and more. A trip to Whole Foods or some researching on the 'net will help educate you more. Good luck!

I agree with Maria the other poster. the chemicals in household cleaners esp. disinfectants are nasty. They have to be toxic to bacteria to kill them, but realize they are also toxic to us and our little kitties and doggies. I do not use them around my pets. There are now some much safer cleaning products out there, just check at a coop or the natural foods section of your grocer. These products are plant based not petroleum based and do not contain all the nasty stuff like lysol or products like that. Much safer.
