Cut out all the junk food and stay hydrated! Get sleep- that's really hard for me with all my homework, but a lack of sleep really will decrease your performance.
But honestly, if you want my best advice, the most important aspect is all in your head. Enjoy running, and be happy about how you do and be excited about improving! That will help you sooo much.

I have been running since like third grade, so I know what I'm talking about. There is all different kinds of running in track, short and long distances.
Start training a couple months ahead. If you cant find a buddy, run by your self (and your ipod). Find a track or map out a mile trail by car. Try to run a mile a day at least, if interested in doing longer distances do more miles a day. But before you run stretch alot (like 10 minutes), drink water (and bring some along), and put on good running shoes (try New Balance or Nike). Always stretch afterwords and cool down.
Hope you make your track team and good luck! Run your heart out!

It's good to be in shape when you start but not usually realistic and not usually the case especially for rookies(even veterans most tines come in a bit out of shape and pay for it for a few weeks, I did year after year). Know that the 1st indtance may not be too intense and kinda fun as the coach is getting the general feel of the athletes, what events they are going to do and their fitness and commitment level. Practices will start to get harder as the season goes on and the racing season draws closer as your training become more event specific . Try hard especially if it's your first time, be enthusiastic, show up on time, follow instructions, listen to the coach, no goofing around, make some friends, they are your life line during the season and some may end up being lifelong friends. I still have many to this day.

howdy, i replaced into in the region you have been in final 12 months. i began out working the 4 hundred, so I went with the midsection distance crew. working with the gap i might say could be very perplexing while you're no longer in large shape... besides the undeniable fact that this is surely a large purpose. in case you opt for for to run music next 12 months, it relatively is large. that provides you all summer time to coach. in case you may, connect a wellness midsection. Planet wellness (in case you have any close to you) is basically $10 a month! Run on the treadmill lots, you are going to additionally might desire to do a large type of cardio. bounce rope. Run run run!!! they do no longer do away with slow human beings, and there are not tryouts. properly i've got by no potential heard of any college ever doing that. basically ensue at music on the 1st day that it starts off, and confer with the coach. tell him/her which you're new and what you opt for for to do. the version between bypass u . s . and known music is that xc runs long distances. longggg distances. there is not any sprinting or container activities. many cases you may run via trails in the woods or on streets, you're no longer continuously engaged on the music. known music runs on the music lots of the time.

it depends on what events ull be running.
if ur more of a distance runner, run every day and and more distance when u feel u can.( tons of water!)
for sprinting strech, water, and running spikes that are made just for the race you'd be running.
no matter what events you do always practice.
and most imporantly believe in yourself!
good luck and have fun!
