Ah. The age old question that I personally have been asked countless times.
Despite what a lot of people think, the hot dog is actually made up of leftover meat from several pigs that have been slaughtered. Contents can also be questionable, with cheaper types of hot dogs having been known to contain snouts, ears, and blended organs. But, let's hope that most hot dogs do not. lol
In other words, after the pig is slaughtered and butchered, several areas of meat that are left over are blended together and take the form of the American hot dog.

some hot dogs have more than pork -- some have beef and turkey and chicken, too.

They contain high amounts of fats, some of the gristle ground up, small amounts of bone meal. Some brands contain tongue, tripe, and other non-meat parts. If you want a hot dog that is free of those disgusting things, go for Kosher franks... it will be all beef and will be much healthier.

ground up odds and ends from all over the pig, with a bunch other fillers and seasoning thrown in for good measure. not the most wholesome food in the world exactly. Keep away!
