Not at all.
God simply is. Religions are the ways that people perceive him.

God gaves us the word and the word was and is Christ, and Christ is the head of the body and the body is His church. If therefore we have Christ Jesus and if we function as a part of His body, then we have no need for religion, we have the "real thing" a personal relationship with God the Father, through God the Son by God the Holy Spirit.
Religion is for the most part, a man made distraction designed to take our attentions off of Jesus.

God and religion are NOT the same.
God is the all powerful infinite creator who loves us with an everlasting love. He desires the very best for us and to have a close intimate relationship with us.
Religion is man's attempt to understand the ways and laws of God. Religion can be good if a person takes into consideration that the questions they have about God and who He is are asked of God and that focus is on God alone, with religion as a guide..... that being said, it can be very dangerous for a person to embrace his or her religion apart from asking God who he is... if one relies on religion to define who God is, religion can become a controlling entity in a persons life. People who embrace religion in this way often live for their 'religion' instead of for God.

No. Religion is man-made, and God has never really been into the "religious" crowd...just look at the Pharisees of the Bible. They were really "religious" by keeping the Law of Moses, but they weren't truly walking with god. I believe that religious activities in and of themselves are not a bad thing, as long as one's heart is right with God. However, there are many "religious" people that will never make it to Heaven because they are relying on their "religion" to get them there...there's only one way to Heaven, and that is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. There is no other way, and no amount of 'religion' can change that.

Religion and God are not the same. Religion was invented by Satan to trick all mankind into trying to do good deeds to get approval of God for salvation.
Christianity, which is not a religion, is the antithesis of religion because in Christianity Jesus Christ did all the work on the cross and all we have to do as sinners is believe that Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sins on the cross. Salvation is a free gift , you don't have to work for it as in religion.

No, God is the object of religion. If you look in a dictionary the first definition will be that religion is the service and worship of God or the supernatural.

God (let's say "god" for the sake of argument) is a vast incomprehensible unity.
Religion is the attempt of humans to comprehend the incomprehensible.
Since the human mind is incapable of comprehending the incomprehensible, religion tends to try to make God "knowable" to the extent that God is reduced by religion to the limits imposed by the human mind.

No. There are many religions that do not have our God in them, or have him but only as one among many, or do not feature a god at all (Buddhism comes to mind). Religion involves the worship of a god or divine figure, but that figure is not necessarily God.

God and Religion are not by anymeans the same thing. Religion is a structured spirtuality based around a diety, God for example. Where as God is a Diety.
