My grand-father once told me that nothing in this world is free. Turns out the old man was right.

There are too many commercials. That said, Fox is better than NBC was.
As far as commercial free races, ESPN has tried something close for its IRL telecasts. They do what is called "side-by-side", where they split the screen, and on one half there is the commercial, and on the other there is the race. The announcers don't talk, but you get to watch the race. Its pretty cool. I can only hope they will bring it to NASCAR.

sorry but those commercials pay the bills but they do have to many! I watched the race sunday and about evry 5 to 10 laps they had commercials! I think they do have to many commercials and alot of the times when they came back to the race they were under caution or they had gotten the green flag!!!

Fox is leaving so much out-it leads one to think that $$$$$ is all that holds them together. This has to be the worst broadcast I've ever witnessed in the 35 years i've tuned in.Teams, drivers, makes, history all seem to be subject to a whimsical twist of desire. I suspect that desire has a price that Fox will forever award to the highest bidder. The sad part is the layman is being soldout to the ultra-rich.I do give credit to those who insure best-ever resolution in a live broadcast-but at what costs? A healthy balance begins / and ends with fan satisfaction!

Well, if you actually go to a race, then there are no commercials, just banner advertising and a once in a while slogan from the inhouse announcer.

That's the problem with comercial (and now cable) television. I think that it will only get worse. And there's nothing you can do. Except stop watching television. Advertisers know people won't stop watching television, so they put in lots of comercials. You could use this time to take a bathroom break, or get something to eat.
