I did lose my Dad when I was 14. It was the saddest day of my life. I always remember it as the day the love died. I am 54 now and I haved missed him every day of it. I can't wait to see him again in heaven.

Losing someone who had brought you into the world is a big loss to everyone's lives. It hurts because they used to be there and now they are inexistant. My dad passed away when I turned 4 and even though i was young, i still find myself wondering how life would've been like if he was around. Would i have done better in school? Would i have looked the way i look now? I have a step dad, he's been with my family for about 10 years now. I call him "dad" though because he's the only dad i can remember sharing memories with. Eversince my first dad passed, my family has moved on... it took a while but now we're okay. When a loss like this occurs, you just have to accept it and move on, but always remember; never forget. You have to appreciate the fact that atleast you did have those moments with them while it lasted, it's better then nothing right?

Wow. I can hardly imagine what it must feel like even thought me and my dad don't get along that well. You have to try to do a lot of stuff with your mum now because it's probably just as hard for her as it is for you. I don't have much experience in this field. Try asking a friend who's parents have had a divorce. It may be somewhat similar. Everything is going to be OK ;)

would be devastated, feel like i couldnt go on. cry incessantly but know that ultimately the world goes on. My mum died when i was 18. the pain is still there 12 years on..and i know it would be same with my dad. i love him beyond description - total daddy's girl even now! but he's over 70 now, and the day will come and it will be hideous and my world will be changed forever - i talk to him at least once a day. but i'll somehow just have to keep going...
...well thanks denver for that cheery question... wish i hadnt started to answer it now...!

You just have to go on. I lost my Dad in 2000, and it was the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. But I make sure I honor his memory and I still strive to make him proud of me even though he's gone from the world.
