Yes, I am still surprised sometimes. The human capacity for stupidity never ceases to amaze me.

Seriously, no. I deal with people within my own religion who carry their emotional baggage and malintentions into Buddhism too... people are people first, and religion doesn't make the "man" (so to speak). It's why I am rather patient about it actually... when I finally reached the realization that people's behavior is as empty of inherent existence as everything else is in the universe, and meditated on it analytically, it removed my "buttons" they used to like to push, by default. Such is life, y'know?

Yup! I just got surprised about 10 minutes ago. I posted something helpful to a christian and they sent me a bitter rant email. Somehow they read cruelty into a post that would be just about impossible to read anything bad into.

Makes me wonder what their daily lives are like :(

Also the level of ignorance about science never fails to astound.

i imagine the problem is that people are area of the excellent ape kinfolk, hominidae. He in all probability would not prefer to be linked with those pesky lesser apes, hylobatidae. in the destiny, i'd advise giving him the due honor of calling him a huge tremendous ape, or a minimum of a marvelous ape.

Sometimes. Christians often act without reading the book they profess to worship, so they often act in odd and unpredictable ways.
