Has anyone been prescribed this drug for a ruptured lumbar disc? I have and it causes my legs and arms to go numb and tingly. Is this normal?

Are you sure it's the drug that makes your arms and legs numb and tingly? A worsening of your back problem may actually be causing those symptoms. Please get in touch with your doctor because this is not normal.

Muscles can have knots (trigger points) that make them tight which in turn put pressure on nerves and other things causing pain.
Molasses - a couple of swigs or Bananas 1 or 2 - both contain magnesium and potassium for muscles.
Try working with the principles taught in The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.
I use a chiropractor and massage therapist with it

I think the tingling and numbness is caused by the injury not the prednisone.

My mom had several series of the med and never had side affects, but it sure made her back feel better.

Isn't that the steroid drug I'm thinking of? If so, I had it for my back also and it didn't do that to me, but it made me eat food like I have never eaten before in my life! I'll never take that stuff again.

(It's the kind where you start on like 4 pills a day and slowly ween yourself down to a half a pill till they are gone.)

The medication works much better without all of the side effects if it is placed directly into the epidural space. See an interventional pain management specialist who can assist you.

No those are not normal side effects

I have taken that a few times before and never had that happen. But, if you look at the little flyer that came with it, it might say something about that...I would def. check with a doctor or pharmacist........that medicine just made me eat like crazy!
