So recently I found a lump, in my neck under my right jaw. I had 2 root canals back in those teeth, and it kind of feels like the lump and pain may be coming from that. But that was over 3 years ago. I do know that every time I get an allergy attack(which get really bad) those back teeth start to hurt bad. Pressure maybe from all the sneezing?

So its only been a week that I noticed this small lump, it hurts and seems to be getting larger, my lymph node is enlarged also. My husbands kind of scared, but we cant get me on his insurance until MAy when open sign up starts. So im at an impass. Any ideas? No I cant get Medi-Cal because my husband makes too much money. Go figure. Also his insurance wont cover pre-existing conditions!

You need to figure something out about seeing a doctor, because you may have an abscess in your jaw. As much of a pain as it is to try and see someone now, you could make this problem way worse by waiting. The only other thing I can say is get temporary private insurance now until May, before this jaw thing gets diagnosed. If you haven't seen anyone yet, it hasn't been diagnosed, so it can't be a pre-exisiting condition. As soon as you get that temporary insurance, you can see a doctor. But honestly, I would just bite the bullet and go pay out of pocket now or go to a clinic, because you truly are just hurting yourself and jeoparadizing your health by waiting.

Your best bet IS to go see your doctor. My daughter had a HUGE swelling on the side of her neck and I panicked because when her grandmother had a similar swelling she ended up with nasopharyngeal cancer. My daughter? Lymph nodes. There are MANY lymph nodes in the neck. The doctors think she had cat scratch fever. Have you had any recent colds/flu/infections? Sometimes you can get a "stone" in one of you salivary gland ducts and clog it causing a painful swelling. You may also have an ingrown hair that can grow into a cyst and be quite painful, especially if you shave in that area. You could possibly resolve that using hot moist compresses until it, well, "pops". (I know, ewww, gross!) If that isn't the problem, go to your doctor, rule out the big bad stuff, find out what it is, and get reassurance & treatment if neccesary. Good luck! I'm sure this is just a temporary nuisance! ~Pamela :)

ok so you are in a tight spot, and you definatly need to see a doctor because lumps can be life threatning. The sooner illness is caught the better the chances of recovery. Is you life not worth a few dollars? I dont think it has anything to do with dental work.

What you can do is find a dental college and usually they will see you for a small fee its just a thought but you should check into it..You need to see a dentist really..

You're gonna have to suck it up and cough up the cash.
Wouldn't the piece of mind alone be worth the less than $100 medical bill??

Please email me at amiekalista22@yahoo.com or amiekalista@windstream.net, so that I let you know about a health care savings plan that covers you regardless of any pre-existing condition, and you could use even after you get insurance.
