I don't have a HDTV, but when they broadcast in HD it makes my picture look blury. How can this be fixed without having to spend $1500 an a HDTV? I now have a SONY WEGA KD-32FS170 FD Trinitron. I'm watching NASCAR and its in HD and it looks like crap. I cant even make out the cars.

You must have had too many High Life's.
What are you doing with HD if you don't have the TV?
Can I sell you a $500 Plasma wall-mount for your Wega?

Well you should not be watching the HD channels on a standard definition (SD) set. The lines of resolution are incompatible. You will get what looks like the sharpness on the TV is wayyy too sharp. It is basically too much information for the screen to handle.

What you need to make sure your doing is watching the SD version of the channel NASCAR is on. If its on FOX, make sure your watching the regular FOX channel and not the HD version. Every TV station now has seperate feeds.

If you are watching the regular channel, then your TV should not be doing that. Try turning down the sharpness control, and if that doesnt work, the TV is junk!

From what I understand, the FCC is allowing all networks and cable networks to use ALL HDTV by the year 2009...after that we either are going to be forced to purchase one of the expensive HDTV's OR rent or purchase a special "box" to attached to our other TV. Yeah...I'm not real happy about this .... I don't think it's at all fair.

I would down grade your cable box from HD to Digital ( if your TV is digital compatible), or regular cable if your TV is analog. Do the same if you are on a dish.

Just buy a cheaper HD tv. You don't need to buy the best and biggest.
