I asked people on here to choose between
A)going to heaven when you die
or
B)curing every single disease and virus that will ever harm mankind for the rest of eternity, but when you die you simpy cease to exist. YOU DO NOT GO TO HELL
.....Does it surprise you that 44% of the people that responded said they would choose heaven over helping the entire human race? (20 out of 45)

Wow. It's not surprising really as those who firmly believe that they are going to Heaven seem to live just for that and don't much care about anyone else's life. But it is certainly disturbing. Imagine the ability to cure every disease and choosing to take care of yourself instead. Truly amazing.

doesnt surprise me and really it shouldn't surprise you either. try getting into their thoughts. your thinking like an atheist and then saying their thoughts are wierd.
the christian does not care about this world, he cares about the next, so between a heaven of eternity or ceasing to exist, any person with half a brain would choose heaven.

Everyone should have picked Heaven. Even if you were able to cure ever single disease, which won't happen, this world still would stink. You still would have murders and rapes. You still would have drunk dads beating on their kids and wives. You still would have people backstabbing you with their words and actions. This happens because we live in a fallen world. This won't be fixed until we are in Heaven. I think people would be crazy to not pick the Heaven option. In my mind you asking 1. Would you live to spend eternity in a place better then Earth could ever be even without it's disease. Or. 2. Would you like to cure disease and just do away with Heaven.

That's a bit of a trick question. Many christians believe that sacrificing your life for someone else's is automatic trip to heaven. So the christians that chose heaven....are not very observant, are they?

of course not. Everyone would love to believe that they
will exist somehow after death and that it'll be a paradise
for all the good boys and girls but they don't like the gritty
realities of disease and actual death (ceasing to exist)

Congratulations, you just proved that people are selfish. I think the world already knew that.
And anyway, 44% choosing option A means that
***56% CHOSE OPTION B***.
So I'm not sure what you're trying to say.

After reading some of the cruel responses at this site, nothing surprises me. When you have people who assume that absolute altruism cannot exist, when people are rude and cruel to each other in simply discussing religion, when people are arrogant in how they discuss religion... nope... not surprised.

To imagine NOT existing........ that's a fairly large order for an ego to agree too.
Illness and disease are temporary conditions.... and to heal them all, means they would have to EXIST.
Can't heal what isn't imagined to BE in the first place.
UP doesn't exist without DOWN. Conditional world here.
The body is WHAT you are IN, not WHO you are....

No. People are terrified to have to die. That is the main reason they invent gods I think.

It doesn't surprise me but it frightens me.
Who can trust anyone who thinks that dying is better than living?
