I seem too lose motivation really quickly and just seem to put weight on really quickly! I am not really good with diets and I feel I eat healthy during the day but after 5 I seem to eat a lot of junk food which I do feel bad about but I get to that point where I don’t care and just eat!

Hi, I had the same problem - could eat really sensibly all day but had an urge to snack all evening. Eventually, I just stopped buying the unhealthy snacks ( I have kids and still buy them a few treats, but tend to buy the ones I'm not so keen on so I won't be tempted! ). I always have something heathy available to snack on so I can have something to eat when I want ( I like bananas, low fat yoghurt, porridge, weetabix - all filling and satisfying but low fat ).

One other thing that worked really well for me ( but maybe not for everyone ) was throwing away my scales so I couldn't weigh myself - I couldn't resist weighing myself too often and would get discouraged if I'd gained a pound or hadn't lost as much as I thought I should have.

Try to have a positive attitude towards losing weight - you're doing this fabulous thing for you, you're getting healthier and will feel better about yourself and have more energy. If you slip up occasionally, don't worry about it, just think that yes, you enjoyed that but now you're going back to the healthier options again. All the best of luck and remember, you're doing this for you!

Based on what you've said here are some tips: * ALWAYS try and make time for breakfast. It will keep you full until lunchtime and will stop the need for mid morning snacks. Weetabix is perfect! * You said you like tuna.. an idea for dinner is tuna steaks (delicious), boiled potatoes or sweet potato (instead of chips) and then some veg like carrots and green beans. * I had the most amazing soup the other day - homemade Sweetcorn & Red Pepper. You like both of those things so find a recipe for it and have a go at making your own. It's delicious. You could have it for lunch with a wholemeal bread roll. * When you feel a craving for chocolate or crisps, have a drink of water, wait 15 minutes then see if you are still hungry. Usually when we think we are hungry we're actually thirsty. * Start swimming, jogging or brisk walking 3 times a week. Or if you want to exercise at home buy a fitness DVD and set aside 3 nights a week to do it. * Try not to buy the junk in the first place! * July is ages away so you can definitely do this. Start off slowly and be realistic. Don't skip meals. Drink plenty of water. And keep your goal in mind! xx

Sorry those really are the 2 good sensible and long term answers to your problem.

Ever since the dawn of time both the sick and the worried well have rushed to pour their money into the hands of quacks and quack remedy producers. There is nothing new under the sun, the fad is just for some new quackery or other.Weight loss products are at the top of this quackery tree. If something really was a magical easy fix to produce instant weight loss don't you think we would all be thin, instead we are all getting fatter!

Less calories in and more calories out, sorry to disappoint you but if you want to succeed there really are no short cuts.

1. DRINK A LOT OF WATER.
2. eat breakfast at 6:30 every morning
3. keep your heart level up for at least 2 hours/day
4. eat lunch consisting of fruits and vegetables and meat at 12:00pm
5. eat a snack at 3pm of fruit
6. eat a light supper no later than 6:30pm.
The reason that I say start at 6:30am is because it will stimulate your metabolism and the earlier you eat, the more breakfast you can eat
The reason that I say at least 30 min of aerobic exercise/day is because the longer that you keep your heart rate up the more energy you burn.
The reason that I have put you on a schedule of times to eat is because this schedule keeps your metabolism up. The later that you eat supper, the more likely that the calories that you consume at dinner will turn to fat.
I suggest a lot of water because it has no calories and it aids the digestive process. I suggest fruit and vegetables because they do not have many calories and they digest easily.
Eat nuts in the morning because they are difficult to digest and will keep you full longer.
Good luck getting into shape.
By the way, if you run for at least 30 minutes/day you can go out to eat 1 time per week.

Give it a month to start to see results. You will lose more without the going out to eat thing. Also, stay away from alcohol

Nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic load. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin and healthy. Salt has no calories but makes you fat and burning more calories does not help this fatness.

I think you already know the answer to your question and it really is a question of eating less crap, more healthy and lots of exercise. I did it and lost 4 1/2 stone. As I lost weight, I got more motivated and it really does help. Have the occasional treat but don't go mad and good luck.

Real simple:
drink 8 oz of water BEFORE each meal. It'll help fill up your stomach and also keep your body flushed out.
Lean towards proteins in your meals. Studies have shown that adding as little as 10% protein to the diet results in losing weight and keeping it off.
Invest in beef jerky to chew on for snacks instead of other junk foods.

What you need is a diet that allows you to eat whenever you like!

Have a look at The Density Diet website at http://www.ewas.co.uk/diet

There are some good tips at http://www.ewas.co.uk/dietadvice

My favourite is "Eat before you go shopping"
If you are not hungry while walking round the supermarket, you're less likely to buy all the rubbish and more likely to have the self control to get the fruit and veg.
