I was online looking at Honda CRXs'. I saw a 91 CRX for $3700 dollars. I thought it was a joke. The Car if in incredible condition with leather and ever upgrade is worth at absolute best $2500. If it's in crappy "excellent" condition then it's worth is like $2000. What happened to honesty America???. I really am just posting this to let people know that not only dealers are crooks.......

That's why I dismiss all claims of the "evil cardealerships".

We all b*tch about the dealerships, but the private sellers are shameless as well. I don't have a problem with buying used at a car dealership. AT LEAST you know they have some rules and regulations to follow for the most part, and sold with some kinda warranty.

good luck.

Because buyers always try to "talk the price down" in order to get a bargain. Many, many years ago, I tried to sell an Oldsmobile that was honestly worth about $3000 for that price. EVERYBODY tried to talk me down. The highest offer I got was $1200. A month later, I re-ran the ad, listing the price as $5200. I wound up selling the car for four thousand dollars.

It's part of the game. You're supposed to feel awkward offering less than 50%. Then they counter at 75% you settled at 62.
Offer 1000. See what happens.

Usually this is due to the seller having been low balled by a dealer.
