Trapping them and removing them are the only way to resolve this. Unfortunately in today's world there are still idiots who don't spay and neuter their pets!

I agree that animal control might be a good solution...
But if that beer bottle looks tempting to toss, I would suggest a squirt bottle with some ice cubes and water in it. Have it hang out near you, so that the next time you reach for the beer bottle, you can grab the ice water instead and scare them off without anyone getting hurt :)
I would also try to investigate what it is that may be drawing the ferule cats to that area, if it's some trash in the field, or a house cat nearby, etc. If it's trash or something like that, simply removing it may solve your problem.
I also recommend some ear plugs or sleeping with some headphones and music (no Yoko Ono though, it sounds just like the cats!)

Call Animal Control. It's because people don't take pet ownership seriously that this happens. It is not the cats' fault. Do not harm those cats! They can't help it! Animal control has humane traps and they will take care of them and see that they are neutered.
DO NOT HURT THOSE CATS!!!
How would you like it if someone threw a beer can at you while you're having sex???

If it is a stray call the animal shelter. Otherwise, you'll just have to wait until it's done being in heat. It should take no more than a couple of weeks.

You can go to a pet supply and get a liquid/spray that will repel cats. You can spray it in the area and they'll move on. (Hopefully)
Good luck.

Call animal control- they'll trap them humanely and take them to a shelter to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and put up for adoption.

Trap them and turn them over to the authorities. You can rent live traps at the humane society.
