If they are such valuable hard workers, as the Mexican government claims, wouldn't they want to keep as many of them in Mexico as they can? They should help us build a fence to keep their valuable populace in Mexico!

LOL. Got to love how ridiculous the Mexicans' arguments are!

Anyone in Mexico want go to USA, they are not leaving Mexico for fun, they emigrate because they need money, most of the people in Mexico are very very poor and they can't find a good job even when some of them are doctors, lawyers, etc. they just can't find good jobs so you can see most of them working as taxi drivers or owning a very small business like selling food and things like that (in Mexico).
And the Mexican government feel apathy for this problem because they are very corrupt.

The billions in remittances sent back to families left in Mexico ,is one of the biggest reasons.
Its become such an integral part of Mexico's economy, that to lose it would be very bad for Mexico.
No Mexico is not a poor nation, but the wealth is not spread out to any of the poor and under educated people. They are encouraged by their government and circumstances to look for a "better life" here in the states.
Unfortunately that 'better life " is sometimes obtained at the expense of a legal Americans better life. By accepting lower wages they cause the wages of legal Americans to become lower for the same work.
The illegal aliens aren't all hard workers ,some are criminals(they were criminals in Mexico) and have nothing on their minds but being a criminal here. While most are hard working
people its still a crime to be here via the illegal route.

Mexican government doesn't give a damn about its people, unless the people are rich. They care nothing for the poor.
The new president Calderon is trying but I'm not sure if its real or just for show.

Because the Mexican government is inept and corrupt. They spend half a century thinking on how to deal with the extreme poverty of their citizen and some how they came with the idea that the best thing to do was to send them to the USA so our companies could used them as half slaves as long as they send their money back to Mexico. Then these Mexicans talk about how proud they all are of their country. In a press conference, Mr. Vicente Fox said, very proudly, that the illegal Mexicans in the USA are doing jobs that not even the Black population of the USA are doing., so why are the Americans complaining about. So beside the comparison, this comment tells me that this people are not that proud of their citizens as they all claim. They don't care about their own citizens, all they care about is the money that this humble people are sending to Mexico. They all should be ashamed of them self. The US government have to stop this illegal immigration into our country, NOW!

Money sent back to Mexico from illegals is the number one source of income Mexico has.
And Fox isn't president of Mexico anymore Norman its Felipe Calderon now. He is against things like abortion, gay marriage, contraception.. he is liberal on the fiscal side of things and has been accused of giving government contracts to relatives and friends and misusing government funds.

looking this up a bit .. since 1822 Mexico has had 98 presidents... compare that to 43 presidents since 1789 for the USA. Mexico has a real problem with stability.

Two VERY good reasons:

1 - To keep the social peace as the immigrants are the folks in Mexico with the get up and go to get things done but the government, in its infinite wisdom, chooses neither to educate them nor to prepare them to help build Mexico up into a real country, and

2 - The REMITTANCES, Jack, the REMITTANCES - which are presently running at 25 - 30 billion dollars a year. Those are big bucks to a country like Mexico.

Word of advice: Don't listen to what they say - instead, watch what they do.

The Mexican government depends on illegal immigrants to send money to back to Mexico. Too bad they don't do something about corruption. That would free up the money they need to care for Mexican citizens.

Well, you don't make much taxes off of $1 a day in income.

Maybe we should get a law passed making it manditory that records of all money transfers to Mexico be sent to the Mexican Tax authority.

I'll be they're not declaring that money!

The REAL reason is because they don't have welfare in Mexico and they are the lowest of the low class there. If Mexico sends them to the US then they don't have to deal with them there...it becomes the US's problem. Sad, that they don't want to help their citizens, but true.
