My boyfriend and I have been together for about 6 months... We have broken up about 3 or 4 times... but we always find ourselves getting back together everytime... I think the reason why is because I love him to much to let him go.... Is it really love? He asks me back out 2 times and I did the same... I told him I love him and he means the world to me... and he knows it... we are always happy together and when we have the time we go on our dates, and we always talk every night on the phone... Can someone help me find out whats going on?

He is playing around with this relationship. Maybe he just wants sex or money or emotional support that you provide for him. 1 thing is for sure he is getting something from you and he needs that until he is completely satisfied in another relationship and then he will break-up for real. You don't need that. Why do you keep going through pain all the time? Let him go and find yourself a man that will appreciate what he has.

my therapist says that is called attachment not love. and to some extent low self esteem. obviously there are problems in the relationship but we delude ourselves into believing the intense feelings we feel when we're apart is called 'love'. it's not! it's a fear of abandonment. i suggest you put the relationship on hold and get some counseling. or if you stay in the relationship get some counseling. somewhere along the way you got programmed incorrectly about what self love is. take care!

it matters what the problem is for breaking up. obviously you both have enough trust in each other to get back together but yet still find ways to break up. if you can work it out then keep going with him. but when he does something really stupid or idiotic dont bother it just means he can possibly do it again.

you wouldnt split up in the first place if you really loved eachother, you are probably just dependent on eachother, one of you needs to break the cycle or it will just continue. Find yourself someone else there are plenty more guys who you will fall in love with and be just as happy with but wont keep breaking up with

WHY do you guys keep breaking up? It depends what the reasons are. If its because he hurt you or you hurt him [ and how badly ] then it might not be love, it may just be a dependency issue.

It's certainly not a healthy relationship to be in.. I agree with the person who mentioned 'dependency'. I do believe that love can co-exist with dependency. you love a person and you depend on him to give you support, love and motivation but IMO, the issue here could be 'over-dependency'.

I dont think so. It smacks of codependency to me. Honestly. Rethink it.
