My son (4 years old), after playing with two bigger kids (8 and 6 each) whose parents are our close friends', complained that 'it's no fun because they always put me in the last position and didn't listen to me'. We totally understand that situation, but what should we tell him, what kind of guidance we can give him for future's reference? And also, any good sites, books to recommend?

Tell him to enjoy the antics of 8 year olds... And not to become angry...

A couple of suggestions: First, speak your friends and ask them to tell their sons to sometimes let your child go first or get a better position in the game/activity.

Secondly, look around for other kids closer in age with whom your son can play.

Also, if he's not already in preschool, I'd suggest that. It's really a great socializing environment.

The first thing that came to my mind was to plan certain activities or games that they can all play together like board games where they all have the same chance of winning. Other than that, just let then figure it out on their own. Either they will figure something out or your child will decide he has had enough and doesn't want to play with them anymore.

maybe find some kids he can play w/ his on age. they are older so this will continue to happen, b/c they are older than he is sooooooooo. try coming up w/ games where the turns at being first always chanfe if it's fairness ur looking for.

Remember being a kid and let him know that that's just the way it goes. Assure him that it won't last forever and you got treated the same way and it's okay.
