hi there!

I can't tell you what the actual meaning of the last name Aulino is; however, I did a search on Ancestry.com and it looks like the origin of the name is Italian. Out of 65 immigration records listed in the New York Passenger List 1820-1957, all but one list their ethnicity as Italian.Quite a bit of the present Aulino population in the US is in Ohio, Nevada, New Jersey and New York. If you have a specific ancestor you would like for me to try to locate, drop me a line with their name, locality, spouse and time frame. I hope this helps. Blessings to you.

Hey xdunkelxblaux,

There is not any entry in Swyrich.com for this name. LDS Family Search has many entries in Italy, and South America. There is not a GENFORUM for this name, so, no one is available via that forum.

Here are some other sites that may help you find the meaning of the name.

Old French origin and meaning may be an occupational name for the gatekeeper of a town, or a doorkeeper of a large house.

It looks like it was originally derived from either Aulo or Auro....
but I can't trace the location

AURINO, AURIZIO,AULERIO, AULINO AULO: From the first name AULO or AURO:

Auro or Aulo supposedly means "gold" , but that's as far as I got.

I hope this helps you some...
