I still have a crush on a boy I first liked when I was 8... I can't forget about him. Unfortunately this is just the way we humans work - the people that we loved when we were younger tend to be the people that we love for the longest, because when we're young we see things differently, and we love harder because we don't know about the pain that love can cause.

I don't think I'm ever going to forget about this boy, and I don't want to either, because love is special and wonderful and we should never want to forget about it. But equally, I've moved on since then and we're both different people.

The way I approached the problem was to get to know the boy as a person and as an adult. We became friends, but nothing more. Get to know this girl outside of your young 'love' for her and see her as a real person, and then you'll be able to see whether you should move on, or embrace it.

Depends on if you ever told her, or if you ever see her anymore these days. 10 years is a long time, and people change. Odds are she's changed a lot since high school, and that might be a bit of a reality check if you haven't seen her since then. If you've maintained friendship for over 10 years, I'd also suggest giving up hope. If it hasn't happened already, it probably never will. Sorry, bro.

I still think about guys from high school. It's nice to look in the past sometimes. If this crush is inhibiting the rest of your life, you need to make a jump on it, or let it go, but if you just think back every now and again... well, there's no shame in that.

Do you still see her these days?

I had that problem, but I hadn't even seen the guy in 10 years, so I looked him up on MySpace and saw who he is today, and got over him VERY quickly...

Yeah of course. What are you doing still thinking about her??

The best way to get rid of someone from your thoughts I find is to move away from the memories.
