Yes, I think about this all the time. I live in a small town in a small county, with only one local rag. I think about providing another view on the news, and I think about letting adolescents run it.

Actually, I had my own newspaper. When I was stationed in Antarctica (197273) I was publisher/editor/reporter/typist/printer/deliverer.
Every Sunday morning, the McMurdo Sometimes Sunday Supplement was on the chow line before 6 a.m. I had news compiled from the base radio central, interviews with guys down there (including our Soviet Union foreign exchange scientist, Dr. Alexandrovich Zhdanov from Minsk), where the base band was playing the next weekend, cross word puzzles, jokes, input from guys on the base, etc, etc, etc. The DAILY paper, put out by our radio central folks was called the WATERGATELESS TRIBUNE (we had gotten SO tired of the Watergate mess, that it was left out).

The first thing would be information that is useful. The second
thing, information that is truthful. That would be, until thay came
one night, to burn it down. You see, truth in publishing, is a no no.
Some, or most of the things you read in newspapers are far from
the truth and far from useful.

Basically unedited images from all angles of the Iraq war. The candy and carcasses back to back. I would print the same story as told by the BBC, Fox, and NPR all back to back as well and people would be able to read between the spin and get to the truth

I think of it all the time. Unfortunately I lack the funds to get one started.

I'd like to work on all of the Congress-folks who sold themselves instead of supporting the interests of the people. .
