Many christians feel that it takes just as much "belief" to NOT believe in a supreme deity as it does to believe one exists.
This is nonsense, of course. It takes no effort at all to discredit the existance of leprechauns, and we have as much proof of their existance as we do of god's.
A lack of religion is just that- a lack of religion. Another way to think of it is that one would not say a bald man has "bald colored hair." We'd say he has no hair at all. Calling a lack of religion a belief in and of itself is exactly that.

I'm a Christian and I claim Christianity is a religion just as I claim, along with the United States Supreme Court, that humanism is a religion.

I dont think christians claim there religion isnt a religion, unless ive missed something! I am baptist, and that is my religion... THere is nothing wrong with having a religion. But you must have MORE then that, that is what the bible talks about when God speaks about religious people... THe are only that, religious.... As long as you have standards, salvation, and a relationship with Christ, you can have religion too, but religion alone is where you go wrong!

yur questions show how yoou copy the christian reality. Christian isn't just a name of catholic religion. Christian is a name given about Jesus Christ, the Son of Holy Ghost. Holy Ghost is the God, people must say. and that of it there is only One God. Christian, Christianity are given of name by plain humans who cannot stand the perpetration of the Son of God. people got pissed off and named them Christians

i imagine the problem is that in any faith, no longer basically Christianity, people have a tendency to bypass in with their personal worldviews already accepted, and then p.c.. from the religion what they prefer from it. If one is arbitrary, one will discover the elements of that faith that help bigotry. If one is tolerant, they are going to discover the elements about tolerance. What will grow to be a controversy is at the same time as the religion itself teaches that "you need to be this faith to bypass to heaven." At that aspect, each and each and every of the persons who were searching for human being power from that faith prefer to make certain others bypass to heaven. a number of it is difficulty, because they fairly care. For others, that is hatred. regrettably, considering anybody is diverse and has taken from the religion what they needed, there finally ends up being as many diverse variations of that faith as there are contributors of that faith. This causes those people on the exterior of that faith inspect it and say, "What the heck?" again, this applies to all beliefs. Christianity is basically referred to more beneficial because it is more beneficial vocal. nonetheless, inspect atheists. some people trust that there are truly no gods, some people trust that gods are basically unlikely, some people trust faith is stupid, at the same time as others trust in "stay and enable stay." as with all idea, there are as many perspectives about atheism, as there are atheists. If we were to unite and choose what all of us believed, would we be dealt with with more beneficial appreciate?

One truth, and that is Jesus Christ.
Relegion holds many truths- it is a broad path.
Where as eternal life in Jesus Christ is the narrow path-- matthew 7:13-14
