of course you can, neither car is a race car, but your crown vic should have at least twice the power, blow his doors off!

That's if the KIA stays running after the warranty goes out...
But the original motor had less horsepower but the crown victoria is bigger in size
The newer motor has more horse power than the crown vic but also depends upon gearing which the Crown victoria is usually low geared for faster take off.
A fairer fight would be a DOHC taurus and a KIA Amanti
Also the KIa owner better be filling on premiem to get those numbers.. most won't

You are kidding, right? The KIA AMANTI couldn't keep up to a CROWN VIC with a flat tire.
Whenever I see a Kia Amanti, all I can think of is "Fake Rolex"

Instead of racing him, why not remind him that “IT’S A KIA!!!” and laugh.
If that doesn’t work, remind him that “IT’S A HYUNDIA!!!” and laugh.

Driving american steel is the only worthwhile ride. If this guy is so hyped on the jap-crap ask him to identify a high end, high performance exotic sports car over $65,000 that's fwd. As he thinks about it, get in your car and burn a 1/4 inch off your rear tires.

I am a little reluctant to dignify this question with an answer. But I will say this much. If you are going to compare "apples to apples", or "oranges to oranges", tell this "guy" to get a V8 rear wheel drive powered sedan, THEN TALK!!!!!

if his kia is still stock, he stands no chance..... but if he turbocharged it or has done a ALOT of modifications it may be fast....
