Hi. I was called for one day of jury duty. I remember seeing the pay stub in my papers but now can't find it. It was less than 25 dollars. Do I have to include this money on my income tax? I am self-employed so does jury duty go under the 1099 misc section? Do I just add 25 dollars since I can't remember the amount?

The truth is jury duty is taxable under other income on form 1040. It is not subject to self-employment tax. I'd just add the $25 since you can remember the exact amount.

Report it on the "other income" line. If you have to give it to your employer because they paid your salary while you were off, you can adjust it back out line 34 of the 1040.

If you can't remember the exact amount then putting $25, your best estimate, would be OK.
