Go ahead and make vet appointment today. Check around they have alot of free ones out there these days. You will probably have to call all that are in the book. Also, why your on the phone ask if they know of place that is either free or reduced rates. I don't want you to have to get rid of her either. I think mom is just saying that because she wants to make sure she doesn't get outside. How can she get rid of a family member like that?Your mom has special feelings for your friend. If you can't afford it ask mom to pay or go in half with you. She will become more affectionate cat when she's fixed. Good Luck to you and kitty

She IS in heat. Cats can get preggo at anytime, but especially in heat. All you have to do is keep her away from boys, especially right now, that aren't neutered. and check into getting the cat spayed... a non-spayed female is many times more likely to get cancer and unlike humans, they don't discharge their fluid, so every heat cycle without pregnancy adds fluid into the uterus, which in itself can be fatal after a period of time. Do your girl a favor, get her spayed, she'll appreciate it... it's no thrill for them, if it was, they wouldn't cry out!

Your cat is DEFFINATELY in heat. Keep her away from males, and whatever you do...don't let her outside! Good luck. I hope she doesn't get pregnant so you won't have to get rid of her.
