The Catholic Church does not teach hatred, period. Having said that, it's possible that, if somone misunderstands a given teaching, it could lead to one hating people of other religions - but that's not the fault of the Church. It's the fault of the student. Most Protestants seem decent. I think that goes to show they received good theological instruction. However, I'm sure there are those who misunderstand, and interpret hate in a misguided fashion the same way a small number of Catholics do. When it comes to bad teachers, the Church - the whole Church - teaches a common Doctrine, so instructors who teach "bad" doctrine are found relatively quickly. Protestant Church's are different; with each one adhereing to a slightly different form of Doctrine. Bad instructors are much more difficult to locate and get rid of, so many of those non-Catholic Christians who do hate have actually been taught that! While they must still be held accountable, we have to remember that it's not all their fault.

Preaching or teaching to hate is a sin. The Lord's Church does not in any way condone this.
The Church of Christ only goes by God's word, which is inspired by him. We do not add to or take away from his words.
When Christ was nailed to the cross, so was the Old Testament laws nailed there with him. He Died and was the testator of the New Testament in which Christians are to live under today.
The Old laws were our schoolmaster. Galatians 3:24,25,26,27

I have no idea what your description is about, but to offer my opinion on the question, teaching hate towards another church is wrong. It is not the church and its people that should be targeted, and not even the beliefs should be attacked. Only if the beliefs promote hate, violence, prejudice, and other discrimation can they be condemned. Persecuting people solely because they hold different views, unless those views have the aforementioned elements, is entirely wrong, against the teachings of many religions, and an invasion of privacy. People of said attacked church must have prejudicial or such views to be considered fairly persecuted

Any church that teaches hate is not doing the work of God. Most of these churches are into judgment of others, in direct conflict with the fact that only Christ can judge, as he can see into our hearts. Avoid the judgmental churches like the plague.

Hi Celst,
Where I attend we do not preach any hatred towards anyone else. We do believe that the BIBLE is GOD's WORD. It is complete and whole. There is no need to add to it or take from it. We are expected to follow the New Testament and use the Old Testament (Law) for our learning. I do not believe that your church will follow only the BIBLE in their teachings but I may be wrong. Have they changed this in recent years?
Study these scriptures and see what you think. To become a Christian:
1. HEAR - Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
2. BELIEVE - In Mark 16:16, Jesus said “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”
3. REPENT - Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.
4. CONFESS CHRIST - 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
5. BE BAPTIZED - Romans 6:3-4 do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
6. CONTINUE TO BE FAITHFUL - Jesus said in Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”
Send me a note if you have questions. I am anxious to hear from you. Have a Great day.

It seems to me that everyone should be able to live and practice their own way of life according to the rules laid down by God in the beginning and that this way of life does not interfere with the lives of others in any destructive way. We must be of a tolerant nature and respect others way of life and religion, we should not be so ready to rip up the other person because we do not think the same way a they do. Go to your own church and believe in what you must but do not try and enforce it on anyone else.
