He wasn't. In fact, he killed a lot of priests! Take a look here http://www.answers.org/apologetics/hitquote.html for some Hitler quotes, which will hopefully put this nonsense about his supposed Christianity to rest.

(To the person above me: isn't it funny that your quotes - if genuine - all come from the 1920s, when Hitler needed to build a power base, whereas mine come from the war years, when he was at full swing and did the worst things.... At the end of the day, anyone can claim to be anything. Truth lies in actions.)

Hitler was an occultist, not a christian. This doesn't mean he didn't believe in Christ, even Satan believes, but that doesn't make either of them christian. Many people throughout the ages have done evil while hiding behind the title of christian, the title doesn't mean a thing, its the acts that show the truth.

Its confusing to comprehend. Hitler claimed to be a Christian maximum of evaluate him to have been one, yet he claimed to be countless issues if it helped him to income sufficient attractiveness to win the election. In Germany in the 1930's if he brazenly spoke out to be an atheist he does no longer have been so extensive-unfold so it would have made experience that he claimed to be a Christian. some declare that he wasn't by using fact he created the reich church as christian ideals in peace weren't properly matched with Nazi recommendations. Pope Pius XI needless to say did no longer like him and called him 'an arrogant prophet with repulsive conceitedness' which become study in each and every Catholic church in Germany, inspite of the Nazi's reliable propaganda device. Hitler become needless to say disliked with the help of Christian leaders interior Germany, i.e. the Catholic Archbishop of Munster, von Galen, led a efficient marketing campaign to end euthanasia of mentally-disabled human beings and countless Protestant pastors, led with the help of Martin Niemöller, formed the Confessional Church in opposition to Hitler's Reich Church. Niemöller become held in a concentration camp throughout the time of the era 1937-1945. yet another Protestant pastor, Dietrich Bonhöffer, took area in the 1944 bomb plot and become accomplished. So in many cases even nonetheless Hitlers substantial inner opposition and project become Christianity whether it incredibly is unknown how he practised his own ideals, consequently the matters open to communicate.

"My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded only by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God's truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders" Adolf Hitler, Munich,12 April 1922

"We tolerate no one in our ranks who attacks the ideas of Christianity... in fact our movement is Christian" Adolf Hitler, 27 October 1928

Need more, just ask.

He claimed on many occasions that he was a Christian and was simply doing what his lord Jesus would have him do.

Kind of like Christians today pervert their religion for their own ends.

I think Hitler was a very demented human being for whatever reasons - I have not studied his childhood, etc. or his life in general.
Could it be possible that he was claiming Christianity because he had a little glimpse of what would happen upon his demise?
Maybe he was asking for forgiveness. I don't know...I only hope so.

Often times I see posts by Christians that the U.S. is a Christian country. By that same logic, Hitler was produced and supported by Christian Germany. You can't have it both ways folks -- is the U.S. a Christian country? If so, then take the flak for slavery and invasions of other countries -- both products of Christian culture.

I have noticed that some Christians who do not like the actions of other Christians simply say "Well they are not a true Christian"...
give me a break. The ONLY qualifications for being a Christian are accepting Jesus as your savior and asking for forgiveness of your sins. If you want to make it harder for people to be a Christian, then change your qualifications for being a Christian...but face it, Hitler WAS a Christian.

Actions speak louder than words . Nowhere have I ever seen that he claims to be a Christian . I am sure he is in a nice hot place unless he had a change of heart which I doubt . Him and Eva Brown are way down under . Don't get me started. I am a WW ll survivor . Have no sympathy at all for that name .

Hitler was almost certainly raised as a Catholic, and appears to have been a Theist.

As for hate, read some of the posting on YA.

He claimed to be a Christian?

"Claim the name remain the same."

He was definitely lying and a false convert. False convert if the rumor that he was a "Christian" was true. Listen or watch this to learn about false conversions:
