One of my friends asked me what an intimate relationship is, and i don't know how to put it in words. could somebody please tell me how to explain it to her?

An intimate relationship is an interpersonal relationship with a great deal of physical and/or emotional intimacy. It is usually characterized by romantic or passionate love and attachment. Sexuality may or may not be involved

Now the word "intimate" mean close, emotionally connected, but that is NOT the same thing as the phrase "intimate relationship", which means a sexual relationship.

are you serious?? all she had to do was look in the dictionary and find the word intimate. but, an intimate relationship is being physical with each other.. whether its kissing, feeling on each other.. something sexual is occuring. it doesn't have to involve sex.

Sex without an emotional relationship or Sex with an emotional relationship. It could go either way... if she's asking, then its apparent she isn't ready for one.
