First determine whether "the little voice in your head" is yours (like your conscience) or whether it is an "extra." I assume by your saying, "you are tired of it controlling you" it seems like something that is not the normal, friendly little voice you think with. If it is an "extra" there are medications that help one control it.It requires one to get a psychiatrist's diagnosis and prescription to get them.
The trouble with such a diagnosis is that under existing standards it will result in a diagnosis that you are psychotic, which can be life changing. But if you truly are "hearing voices" they may become more insistent and detrimental to normal mental functioning. I would consider seeing a qualified psychiatrist if you are sure these "voices" are "extras" and not your normal thought processes.
A diagnosis of a psychosis is not life ending as there is a lot of help out there for the disorders which are probably physical like diabetes.

You may be going through a lot of stress, and it could cause auditory hallucinations. However, often times it could be an indication of a mental illness that has to be treated with medication. Just know that this voice is not real, even though it may sound very real to you. Go to your doctor and he will be able to give you a good solution. Ever see some people on the train talking to themselves? That is because they experience auditory hallucinations. It could start out slowly, and progress into a full blown episode where this voice will be all you hear, so please don't let it get that far and see a doctor.

I was thinking that it could be a demon, but you said you're a Christian.. meaning you're completely safe with God! But still, talk to your pastor/priest, ect about this.
You could be schitzofrenic (not how you spell this) Hearing little voices like that is the main symptom of schitzofrenia. You need to get some help with this... if schitzofrenia is the case, then there are many medications out there that can help you with this. Good luck!

Change to a better belief system than the one where Christianity says we're all sinners. Being told negative stuff like we're all sinners and are bad bad bad! is what could be causing anxiety and that voice in your head.

you need to call a mental health agency (you can look in the phone book or call 211 (social service info) and be seen by a professional immediately. going to a mental health professional does not mean you are crazy it just means you probably have a chemical imbalance causing this voice which could possibly be schizophrenia (search the net to get info). the voice will not get better without talking to someone and getting some medication to get that imbalance balanced! :)

well major mood illnesses can cause you to hear voices.and for that you need to see a psych Dr.but what you wrote kinda sounds like lyrics to a old christian song.if thats the case then its just a spirit thing to guide your heart, its a little hard to explain.dont remember who sung it.

It sounds like you may be schizophrenic. You need professional help. Don't let anybody talk you out of it. This will not go away on it's own. It is a medical condition and you need treatment. There are lots of Christians who have issues and seek medical help. Be one of them, please.

Being a christian does not have anything to do with mental illness. You might need to seek professonal help.
