Act as if she's not - she either is and would be impressed by your boldness, or she isn't and you're being too harsh on yourself.

In general, it's better to get over the notion of your league. Try to treat her as an equal, that works miracles with people, both in friendly and romantic terms. Remember, complete equal, not inferior or superior.

You have already doomed yourself by believing she is out of your league. Why is she out of your league? Just because she is very attractive? Just because she may be in a different class(talking financially here) than you?

There is no such thing as out of your league. If you are interested, talk to her. You would be surprised. The hot girls are usually happy to be approached. Why, because often they don't get approached because men are intimidated. And the ones who do approach them usually aren't the "nicest guys" anyways.

Go for it. The worst that can happen is that she isn't interested in you. Oh well. But, don't go for it, and 10 years from now, you will still be wondering what if.

Do YOU think she's out of your league, or does SHE think she's out of your league? Shyness can be overcome. Try to start a casual conversation. Try to make her laugh, but don't overdo it. Look for common interests that you could talk about. If you can't find any, and you only like her because she's beautiful, chances are a relationship wouldn't work out anyway. And if she is the one who thinks that she's out of your league, she isn't worth your time or trouble.

Hope I was able to help.

why would you think she is out of your league??

The shyness will go away as soon as you say Hi..

Find out what some of her likes and dislikes are.. that comes after the Hi...

My husband is terribly shy.. When he first came up and talked to me.. He said.... Hi, I saw you make that play at 2nd on Saturday.. you were great! That was it! he took me to a local little league baseball game to watch my kid brother play and was laughing at me while I was yelling at the umpire.... LOL

Now he tells people it was love at first sight.. seeing me block second plate for the 3rd out of the inning.

So find her thing.. and start with ... Hi..... the shy goes away if she knows you're sincere.

But she's probably not out of your league.. there really are very few leagues.

There is no 'league'...just like there is no "the one" (there are potentially MANY).

If you like her, approach her...get the idea out of your head that she's better or above you. People are people...and confidence is appealing...she's just another girl (albiet one you are attracted to) go forth and court as you would any other girl...
