sometimes they take it to avoid an odd scene if it's offered and they turn it down...sometimes they ask for it but then when they think about it later, they decide they really weren't that interested in you after all or they were drunk and forgot who you were...
Have no expectations when you give out your number, and you won't be disappointed if you don't get a call.

Talking with a new girl can be frustrating. Women are not the most logical creatures in the world and why would they be? Women are not the problem solvers of the world. Women are not in charge of making the world work such a making a car run, solving computer issues, or fixing a toilet. There are times when guys just don't want the head aches. As a general rule It is so easy to upset a woman over the smallest of things in a first contact situation. This manifest in guys as lack of confidence but in reality he is feeling like she is not worth the possible hassle.
A self aware rational man can have second thoughts about calling a lady after he gets her number. Believe it or not men do have man's intuition and sometime feels calling a lady is not in his best interest after thinking about it not to mention he may have found a lady more interesting to him.

Probably because he got 500 other numbers that day and then picked one (or a couple) girls to call. And its probably a good thing you weren't picked. Next time take the guys number instead, i found that to have a better outcome in the long run.

when guys get your number they're obviously attracted to you. We usually realize afterwards, that when we call you, we're not really going to have anything to talk about, b/c we don't really know you as much. Plus, we think it might seem weird to just ask you on a date or something, b/c u hardly know us and may look at it as weird. Basically the awkwardness and reality of the situation hits after we get your number and we realize that calling you won't help since we hardly know you. We lose confidence and just decide to not call.

Because guys don't have a clue. They may call or they may not but it is ridiculous to ask for someone's number if you aren't going to actually USE it. Don't worry about this guy and hope that he doesn't call you.

Maybe it was just a test to see if you would. Personally ive been given a wrong number maybe he tought that without even trying. Maybe he still intends to call. Its like Campbells possibilities.

Iwould never do that. If I took your number it would only be because I wanted to go out with you again. However, there are lots of men who take your number in the hope(however remote) that you will think if they take your number you will go with them. Doh!!! If you are worth it don't go with them!!!
