Happens to cops often. Called "Suicide by Cop". My husband was involved in one of those (he is a retired cop) and almost got himself shot in the mans house. The guy ended up doing himself in after my husband did not shoot back. The guy was mentally ill and his wife and small son had just left him and the guy went weird.

I've never been in that situation, but I have stopped a friend from committing suicide. She was thanking me later for it, and thankfully hasn't turned on me.

They're trying to kill you so you won't interfere with them committing suicide.

You did not elaborate, maybe they are suffering depression and rage. I would say to that person get help if not I would stay away from them.
