Depends on where you live, but in most places the answer would be yes. Most places don't allow it because:
1. They don't want the sand to be full of broken glass.
2. They have laws against drinking in public.

I would check the rules of the beach you are planning to go to. Many beaches have websites or at least signs that are posted if alcohol is prohibited.
Most beaches that do not allow any beverages to be in glass containers. Many beaches do allow alcohol as long as you are 21 or older and have the alcohol is plastic containers.

Depends on the beach, some beaches allow it during certain hours, others do not. Also most beaches have restrictions against glass on the beach, so you'll have to put it in a different container.

In San Diego no liquor (or any beverage) is authorized in glass boxes. Liquor is authorized on San Diego seashores between the hours of midday and eight PM. it relatively is authorized for the duration of all hours at l. a. Jolla seashores coastline and Marine highway coastline. you need to be 21 or older to have alcohol.

I think that you are not allowed to introduce glass bottles that might break and injure visitors, nor bathing in the sea drunk as for the contents (liquids and alcohol) I don't think there are further prohibitions
