I really enjoy going to the supermarket on my own on Sundays (though I have a family) and specially like watching the stress that others have with their bratty kids, as they seem to have taken the whole family. My husband doesn't come with me but stays at home with our kids and helps me get the shopping in when I get back. Its great.

I usually go on my own either Saturday or Sunday and it is bliss but this morning I was unfortunate enough to have my husband with me. I'm not sure why he chose to come along for once -but it's not something I would encourage another time(pain in the backside). The kids were at my parents though so at least it wasn't a big family outing. Next week I am just going to jump in the car and not tell them where I am going just incase I get any hangers on.

usually there's just me and my two year old as I try to go when my daughter is at school and my husband is at work. Unfortunately I ended up having to go on Saturday (of all days) with 'uncle tom cobley and all'. It was a complete nightmare, my husband being the worst offender of bad behaviour. He becomes very loud and aggravates the kids until they end up in tears! I ended up spending much more than I wanted to and still didn't get everything I wanted, Hence no Sunday roast today!!
It is so much calmer when theres only me and my son. He is much more mature and even helps to put the items in the trolley. Never mind bratty kids, spare a thought for those of us with rally driving, trolley pushing husbands( with the sound effects to go with it!!)
One last point I love to spend time with my family and it's very important that we do things together, I can think of better things to do together that's all.

where fortunate enough to live by my mum and dads and aunts so if and when we want to go shopping or on a message i just ask my aunt or parents to come around and sit with are two boys while we go and do what we need to do. i hate taking the boys shopping for one they get board and two they run mad as if they never go out and really make a show of us one runs one way and the other the other way its much better going on your own.

We go as a family and its horrendous as you say. I have two kids to drag along with me and one of them is two! My husband is the worst brat of all time though and I find taking him far more stressful than the kids. He is victor meldrew on steroids. I don't like going on my own though as I get bored!
