tomatillo sauce is just salsa made from tomatillo instead of tomato. You could easily sub salsa. If you need it to be a smooth sauce, just whirl your salsa in the blender for a minute.

You mean tomatilla sauce or salsa verde or green salsa? Well, if you don't have any of the above or feel like going to the store use any salsa or picante. Try enchilada sauce or crushed tomatoes with added spices like cumin, red pepper, onion salt, and garlic powder. Diced or stewed tomatoes may work. If you have none of those throw away that recipe and find another.

You can use a red salsa. It won't taste the same though.
