I always pray that the lines aren't long and that the bounty of the shelves will be full.

The only thing that would make it complete would be to give away free samples of bread and Welch's grape juice.

Are you alone in the Wilderness? Well, are you child? Then raise your head upwards. Look up I tell you! ( Our hidden shoplifting cameras are placed in the ceiling.) Can you feel his presence? (The Safeway security guy is standing right behind you) On aisle 12B we have a sale on the bread of life. ( Whole wheat or buttermilk, but only with a coupon) Step over to the refrigerated section where you will find the milk of human kindness. Don't keep your feelings towards HIM bottled up! Drink deep from the well of divine inspiration. There is no expiration date in Christ. Now, follow me to the produce section, and lettuce pray, after you put some green stuff in the collection plate of course. Don't worry about staying too long. We have plenty of thyme. Take time to smell the rose, Mary. But, avoid the curse of Ham and his wry sense of humor. Noah one should have to experience that. Now, before I finish my service, let's all Jonah hands, and cast our eyes eastward, towards the checkout stand. Remember though, If you believe in HIM, there is no checkout stand. The idea of mortality just doesn't register with true believers. Now, may I take your bags?

Isaiah 1:13 - God begins to reveal His displeasure with the Sabbath. Matt. 28:1; Mark 16:2,9; John 20:1,19- the Gospel writers purposely reveal Jesus' resurrection and appearances were on Sunday. This is because Sunday had now become the most important day in the life of the Church. Acts 20:7 - this text shows the apostolic tradition of gathering together to celebrate the Eucharist on Sunday, the "first day of the week." Luke documents the principle worship was on Sunday because this was one of the departures from the Jewish form of worship. 1 Cor. 16:2 - Paul instructs the Corinthians to make contributions to the churches "on the first day of the week," which is Sunday. This is because the primary day of Christian worship is Sunday. Col. 2:16-17 - Paul teaches that the Sabbath was only a shadow of what was fulfilled in Christ, and says "let no one pass judgment any more over a Sabbath." 2 Thess. 2:15 - we are to hold fast to apostolic tradition, whether it is oral or written. The 2,000 year-old tradition of the Church is that the apostles changed the Sabbath day of worship from Saturday to Sunday. Heb. 4:8-9 - regarding the day of rest, if Joshua had given rest, God would not later speak of "another day," which is Sunday, the new Sabbath. Sunday is the first day of the week and the first day of the new creation brought about by our Lord's resurrection, which was on Sunday. Heb. 7:12 - when there is a change in the priesthood, there is a change in the law as well. Because we have a new Priest and a new sacrifice, we also have a new day of worship, which is Sunday. Rev 1:10 - John specifically points out that he witnesses the heavenly Eucharistic liturgy on Sunday, the Lord's day, the new day of rest in Christ. Matt. 16:19; 18:18 - whatever the Church binds on earth is bound in heaven. Since the resurrection, Mass has been principally celebrated on Sunday.

Go to costco, it is a real religious experience. Free food for all up and down the aisles. Sometimes a little juice, sometimes a sample of chicken salad, sometimes a sample of taquitoes. Just like heaven.

My wife and I joined a church several years ago. Part of the process was to go without sex for the interview period which was 6 weeks. We would go and report to the church committee on a weekly basis. Week one was not so bad, week two.. not to bad, week three was tough, week four was miserable, week five was Hell. We had to go before the committee and I was forced to tell them what happened on Thursday. I had to be honest and I flat out told them " When my wife dropped that can of peaches, well that was all I could take I am very sorry" The church replied. " Well your no longer welcome here" I responded. "Well, we are no longer welcome at the grocery store either". No I have no place to worship.

Um no. Apparently you worship the God of Grocery. I have a very different religion from you. Therefore the two can not be compared in thier apparent um conduct becoming someone who actually isn't making fun of religion but someone who actually has one. ;)

I work in a grocery store/Super Center (NOT that icky "W" one) every single Sunday morning so I, too, "worship" there. I pray for it to be time to go home for one thing.

Don't forget to pray for the sale at the meat department and that the smell of the seafood doesn't make you wharf all over isle 7.

I don't think I'd see it during my "NASCAR buggy race."

"...and he rounds the corner....gaining on the mustardmobile and....OOOOOOH right into the canned corn display!!! MEDIC!!!!!"
