My stepdad has high blood pressure and is diabetic(injects himself before every meal). He has been told not to drink or smoke, he has at least 12 beers and a box of cigarettes everyday. My mom didn’t used to be a keen drinker, but every night he buys her a bottle of wine and she finishes it, then she moves onto anything alcoholic in the house. Besides setting a bad example for my 16 year old brother, I’m worried about her, when I try to talk to her about her drinking, she gets very snappy and says she drinks because she is stressed(my mother is a housewife and has not worked for approximately 10 years, we have a maid who does all the cleaning, washing and ironing, so I don’t believe the stress story). How can I get them to see what they are doing to themselves? What happened to my mom? She was motivated, she used to do stuff, she had friends, she used to belong to a book club, but now, all she talks about is getting “rid” of my brother and I so that they can be alone and carefree. Yes, i am 23, but i am a full time student, so moving out isnt really an option unless i drop out of my course. And he does inject himself before meals, he only checks his blood sugar levels about once every 2 weeks

BTW, you got the injection whine all wrong, he has to inject himself AFTER he eats, after he tested his blood and calculated his dosage.

I would contact a local Baptist preacher that believes in hell and get him to go visit them.
It sounds like to me the problem is a problem of the heart
