I was wondering if I connect my laptop to my HDTV, with a DVI to HDMI cable, would HDTV video files on my laptop actually play in HD quality on the LCD?

And is it just a matter of connecting the two up, or is there more to it.

I know these files are HD, and I view them on the laptop at the moment in normal quality, just I wanted to enjoy them fully...

Also does anyone know if Sony have a 26" model with 2 HDMI inputs - so I don't have to buy a splitter. Someone mentioned in a previous question that the new range have 2 HDMI ports but I couldn't find a 26" with 2!

Thankyou.

dvi to hdmi will work, but without sound, you will have to get phono leads.

Sony 26" hasn't got 2 hdmi to date, but they are in the making, so hold on til the new one comes out. sony are upgrading all models with 2 hdmi, 26" is down the list
