Your lungs will take care of themselves once they are breathing only clean air.
After quitting for 15 years all risks return to the level of non-smokers. Most risk disappear far sooner.
Here's all the details on a time table explaining what happens. Benefits begin in 20 minutes and even heart attack risk begins to drop in the first 24 hours!

Time is the great healer - as time passes your body rebuilds itself. When I quit smoking many years ago
I believed then as I do now that drinking many daily glasses of water helped me. I found that eating carrot sticks helped with my need to do something with my hands since I was no longer holding a cigarette and also provided alot of beta carotene which is natural healing substance.

In school we learned what and how to clean your or someone elses lungs by drinking salt water after doing that you'll have to use the bathroom pretty badly. And pretty soon you'll be clean as a newly polished person inside.
