Ive been feeling down for a while not. About a month and cant seem to get out of this hole. What are some things i can do to get happy again? Friends are usually good at making me feel better, but idk when im not with them i just feel alone. Or little things they do will upset me. It's a mix between paranoia and depression i think.

i do may things that make me happy, but it seems like they are all just escapes. I do a lot of volunteer research for a philantropy organization and it makes me feel great. Reading, listening / playing music, going to a movie with some friends. It just seems kind of pointless to be temporaily happy. I have had some trouble with friends in the past few months and now i kind of feel afraid geting close to people. the weird things that bounce around in my head are pretty false and i know its dumb to think that this person didnt like me anymore or want to talk to me when really they left their phone in the car.

Well you can't "cure" depression but you can treat it... first maybe you need to see a therapist and see your doctor about some medication...something like Cymbalta or Zoloft could get you back to feeling well...Good Luck :)

I have depression. I find the things that have helped me beside medication is getting busy. Even answering question for someone else helps. Anything that helps you get outside yourself. Sometimes it is volunteering were you are in direct contact with people. Other times it is exercise.

Staying around people is the best besides medication and therapy.

If you can't afford a doctor go to the closest free clinic. Depression can be a chemical thing so that you can't feel better until you get the chemicals adjusted.

The irritation and anger with friends is probably part of the depression.

Talking to a therapist/counselor/psychiatrist, etc. is always good. They can get to the root of why you are depressed. If necessary, they can get medication prescribed for you.

You can try taking the supplement, St. John's Wort, which is used by many people with depression. It's over-the-counter, in the vitamin aisle. (Do not take this if you are prescribed a med).

Walking in the fresh air is helpful
All exercises are also helpful
Meditation is useful
Writing and/or doing art are very therapeutic
Eating healthily helps

Keeping your mind and body active keeps you going. You probably don't feel like doing these things--but you will feel better after doing them.

Well, you could always go to a doctor and take some medication, but that's usually only required if you are having suicidal thoughts.

Commonly it's helpful to do something you enjoy, or something that is relaxing. It is also important to have someone you can tell your feelings too, and have them not judge you. A tea using sage and rosemary can also be depression-reudcing.

The idiot above will be reported. Just remember this you will get better your at the lowest point. Stress brings on anxiety which leads to depression.

You are not alone there are milions that suffer.

i think that it offers a lot of wisdom and and I think that when you are depressed the cure for that is to feel a mission in your life so when you find that mission depression wont be a problem because you have something else to think and plan about.

When you smile the whole world smiles with you....when you cry you cry alone. Thats life. Drink a tall glass of happiness or better yet see a therapist. Good Luck.

I am depressed too. I don't think there is a way to "cure" depression but ways to treat it. I have accepted I have depression but can't really come to terms to talk it out with a couselor/therapist (it is privacy issues).

You're the only one that can figure that out. If you need help get it or talk to God, He'll help you. Try walks and exercise. Talk to God while you walk or walk with a friend. Hanging out with family also helps.
