We started dating in college and the first time we were apart was over Christmas break, we had made plans to meet but he had a car accident and I wasn't able to see him...when he called to tell me we wouldn't see one another I think that's when I realized I loved him.

I was talking to my husband one day (this was early on when we were dating) about my day and a transfer at work I was considering. I rattled off all the benefits to the transfer but how it would cut into our time which was kind of tight sometimes as it was. He said he understood and asked what I wanted. It threw me, I could not remember ever in my life that someone asked me what I wanted. I explained why it would be good and he asked again "Is this something you want?" I realized it really was, not just because of the benefits at that time but it was something I would enjoy and find fulfilling. He then asked if I could deal with the added responsibilities of the position...I told him yes. He then asked how it would affect my children. I pointed out the hours would be better for me and my children but that it would cut into what little time he and I had together. He told me as long as I really wanted it, I could handle it and it wouldn't negatively affect my children then he would work around it.
I realized at that moment he REALLY did put a lot of stock in my welfare and that of my children, that we weren't way down on his list of priorities. He really was (and still is) willing to be an equal partner in this relationship, not someone who would get in the door and end up being someone I had to cater to and pick up the slack for.

i feel in love when i found someone who was honest and loyal. we were together for a while then broke up, but r still real good friends. that was the only time i felt the way towards any guy.
