If you're talking about stem cell research, stem cell research consists of taking apart 150 cytoplast. In comparison the brain of a fly is 100,000 cells. So killing a fly would be more immoral than using stem cell research.

For many people morality concerns suffering. A blastocyst is not capable of suffering.
For people who would imbue a blastocyst with an imaginary "soul," I have a couple of questions:
About 50% of all pregnancies naturally end by spontaneous abortion. If it happens within the first month, the woman is usually not even aware of the spontaneous abortion. Does this fact make god the greatest abortionist of all time?
In many cases a twin blastocyst is formed which is then absorbed by one blastocyst. So are fetuses committing murder? Do some people live with two souls in them? what's the theology on that?
