Less dependence on oil and oil-producing nations.
Giant oil companies would lose out.
Other fuels would end up causing some type of environmental issue - warming, other pollutants, etc.
At first there would be a shortage of the fuels and ways to obtain the fuels.
Large companies would form an alliance and take over the spot vacated by bankrupt oil companies.
Oil-producing nations would lose their power over the rest of the world and governments would collapse.
