It's a great hotel, especially if you get a room on a high floor with a view (some of the rooms have no view at all). Don't feel you have to stay in Times Square - New York's public transportation system is great - it's easy to get to any part of the city. When my family comes to New York, (they want to be in Times Square - I still don't understand why), I recommend the Belvedere Hotel - the prices are better than the Marriott. It's spotless, has a great staff and every room has a coffee maker, a fridge and a microwave. The Belvedere is three blocks away from the Marriott on 48th Street (Mariott's at 45th) - the prices start at $160, but you probably can get a better price at PriceLine or Orbitz, etc.

Have a great trip.

I have stayed there. It is beautiful and right in the middle of everything. You walk out the down you are in times square "the crossroads of the world" any time of day it is busy. They have a theater right there and don't be afraid to ask the concierge for recommendations on where to eat or go. They can also get you discounted tickets or you can choose to wait in line and half price tickets ask them about that. Most of all hav a great time.

VERY expensive - as are all Times Square hotels.
I'm not sure what you are looking for when you mean "Central" but the Marriott is fine.
The Hilton Garden Inn has larger rooms and is usually less money.

Very touristy, however great location and a nice view while sipping cocktails. I would also recommend the W hotel in Times Square. Rooms are good, staff is pleasant and Bliss products in the rooms.

AMAZING i would choose that over a lot kind of expensive but worth it. The elevators are awsome, the system they use is very sweet. The lobby level, there are a couple of "resturants" and the elevator ride is awsome 40 floors of fuN!

I've never stayed there, but have visited the building many times.
Don't miss the lounge on the top, it's revolving if my memory serves correctly. The elevator ride up alone is worth it. :)
