Why should he? What possible gain would it be for him to tell you to move on? It could very well be that he is keeping you as a backup/spare? And he is apparently good at it...
Sounds to me like your reaching here... What difference does it make if he says it to you or not? Except that you can use it as an excuse to keep obsessing about this guy. What is real in this? Isnt it just an illusion about a guy who was nice to you at a time when you needed someone to be there. He was there, and that was a good thing. However it could be that you now piedestalizes the poor guy... after all, all the following events doesnt make him look to good in my opinion.
Ask yourself, does it matter why he wont say to you to let go? NO it does absolutely not! Because either he should commit or YOU should let go of your fixation w. him!

so you guys really haven't talked since spending the night together-- other than the few text messages you have mentioned. If that's the case he's string you long-- he won't tell you to get lost because he'll have something to fall on if this current relationship doesn't work OR he's just a player. You should read "He's just not that into you"-- it's a good book.

It could be that this man wants to keep you interested in him and keep the girl has been seeing for one month interested in him too.
That is probably why he will not TELL you to let him go. However, if he is really serious about having feelings for you, he will definitely agree to let the other woman go. Ask him about his intentions for a future relationship with you and ask him if he is willing to tell the other woman to let him go. If he can't do that either, then, you just need to GO--without being told!

Why are you depending on someone to tell you to let go? Just let go. If there is something there he will come to you. Until then... go be happy. And if you really really want someone to tell you to let it go... here.... "LET IT GO!". ;-) Besides, he has only been with the girl for a month SO there is still hope for you two. Just don't be miserable and dwell on it. It's not gonna get you anywhere.Good luck.

Men want their cake and want to eat it, too. Not that he's going to cheat on his current relastionship, but the attention is what he's after.
In the end, it's not up to him to tell YOU to move on. You have to do it... what ever is going to happen is going to happen, no matter what influence you try to put on it.

Ugh, stupid person!! tell him that if you want to, you're going! this is your decision not his. i realize you may not want to hurt anyone, but it's your decision that shouldn'tr be influenced by his especially if he's dating someone else. tell him to make a choice. you or her. if he chooses her, you can go, if he chooses you, you can date him, if he says he can't choose then follow your heart. remember, you're the pilot of your life, not him!
