Just wondering if you Chevy, Dodgoe, and Ford fans heard the news? The Camry is the only NASCAR racecar built in the United States of America. Interesting? I think so.

Toyota employees more than 7000 ppl in the USA. I work for Toyota and we have almost that many at the plant I work at and that doesn't include all of the other companies in our area that builds parts for our plant. The plant in Kentucky employees even more than the plant I work at. You also have to figure in the plants in Tx,WV, Ala,Tenn. and so on. The Ford Fusion is built in MEXICO,the Monte Carlo and Charger are built in CANADA and I didn't have to ask DW for that fact.

What Darrell fails to tell you is that the big three STILL employ far more Americans than Toyota does! 7000 people? Like that is the salvation of American jobs in this country! 7000 jobs does NOT rate Cup racing status in my book! It seems they have also bent the rules we went by for so many years! Where are the 16 valve V-8s in a Camry that are required to be in factory production for a year before you can race? I WILL however say, you Big Three auto workers can blame yourselves! YOU demanded these exhorbitant wages! YOU are the problem with your factories farmin out their parts production! Aint NOBODY deserves 25 bucks an hour for snappin a friggin wiper blade on a car!
AMEN CHELLE! You hit it square on the head!

For the record....Chevrolet, Ford, and Crysler send most of their stuff to either Canada or Mexico for assembly. And most OEM replacement parts for these vehicles are manufactured in those countries. Toyotas sold in the US are assembled in the US.

As for the engine used in NASCAR's version of the Camry...it's essentially a 350 cid Chevrolet!

I don't think the problem the nascar fans have with Toyota is which state they are built in or the American made cars. It's that they are a foreign owned company. Nascar and especially the Daytona 500 is deemed the "GREAT AMERICAN RACE'' it started as an American down home sport and should stay that way. Unfortunately deep pockets are taking over.

I hate to tell you but there are very little Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Toyota parts in those cars. The frames, chassis, and bodies are all custom fabricated, the transmissions, drivetrain and suspension are all custom, and even the engines are bored-out modified and tweaked.
