You can actually cook a frozen lobster.
But if you need to de-thaw in a hurry, just fill a pot with enough water that will cover your lobster tails. Bring the water to a rolling boil and then drop in your tails. Let the water return to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer for around 8 minutes. That’s it your lobster tails are ready.

No No No! You guys got it all wrong, except gabivat, he knows what hes talking about. For the Best Results: take lobster out of freezer, place in a covered container and let rest 8-12 hours. Best to use same day. Lobster spoils very easily and could be "Damaged" if left on the table and soaking lobster in water takes away from the succulent taste of the lobster and makes it less flavorful. Hope this help and check out http://www.lobsterhelp.com for Lobster Recipes and Lobster help, buying and cooking lobsters.

Speaking as a chef I would never freeze (or buy frozen) lobster it takes 10 mins to cook from raw so why bother? To defrost cover it with clingfilm on a plate & leave in the fridge overnight

I'd put the lobster in water. It shouldn't take too long. That's how they say to do frozen shrimp. It works every time.

You can (and should) steam it while it's frozen - there's no advantage to letting it thaw. You could also cook it in the oven, but that's a little trickier getting the temp right.

Why thaw it? Just toss it in the steamer over boiling water, slap a lid on it and wait about 12 minutes.

Keep it or any seafood and meat in the refrigerator. Do not put lobster in water or in room temperature. Seafood is sensitive to temperature changes and can spoil fast. Keep it in the refrigerator until defrosted then cook it.
