Simple geometric symbols have been around for as long as humans have been able to draw.

Some of the most simple have been used by almost every cultures in one way or another. Sometimes an idea is borrowed along with the symbol and other times the symbol is given entirely new meaning.

The pinwheel design, also, known as the swastika, is one of the simplest designs capable of representing movement. As well as being used by the Hindus, it is frequently used by many Native American tribes.
Some of its most popular interpretations include luck, wind, water, motor, and doorway.
Even the Nazi's did not use it as a symbol of hate; to them it was a symbol of power. Modern (post WWII) interpretation has ADDED fascism and hate to the possible meaning of the symbol.

Think about some other popular symbols that have been used by many countries.
The cross was used as an important symbol in Central America and Celtic cultures since long before it became a popular symbol of Christianity.

In fact the "Celtic Cross" is a very popular combination of symbols: the cross and the circle (we really do not have time to get into THAT symbol: money, completeness, the world, the sun, a face, etc, etc,... oh yeah, and apple pie!)

You will note it isn't the same symbol.

The Nazi swastika is a reverse of the Hindu one.

There is a degree of intent as well that will sway a prosecutor in deciding whether to proceed with a prosecution.

Did you you there is a town called Swastika in Ontario Canada?

Hindus do NOT use Nazi symbolism. The swastika as a symbol has roots that predate Nazism by many THOUSANDS of years. If you care to research this commonly known fact, you will realise that your question is fallacious !

Because its use in their faith long pre-dates Nazism, and because Hindus do not use it as a symbol of hatred. What were those other people you are referring to doing with the swastika at the time of their arrest? Chanting "white power" or some such nonsense, I imagine.

(By the way: the Nazis did not steal this from Hindus but from Greco-Roman history.)

It was a Hindu Symbol long before it was used by Hitler.

furthermore the Nazt party inverted it, the proper way to display the symbol is with with the sides paralell and at a .90 degree angle to the floor. the nazi party turned it to have one of the corners pointing to the floor, much like Satanist's blaspheme the penticle by turning it point down and the same with the Christian cross.

You may want to do a little research there, honey. The swastika, as we know it, didn't begin its existence as a symbol of hate. Quite the contrary. Keep in mind that most symbols we recognize today are adaptations of symbols from other cultures and societies. Unfortunately, some perfectly benign symbols are inaccurately represented and the negative stigma seems to attach itself to them. Don't believe me? Look it up!

Because the swastika is a symbol that originated in India. They had it first. Hitler was the one who stole it.

I dont know what it means to the Hindus, but do the Buddhists in China I know it means "prosperity".

The swastika far pre-dates Nazis and is actually a good luck symbol. The Nazis just used it for their own political agenda and distorted it's meaning turning it from a good luck symbol into a symbol of hate.

A swastika originally was a variation on a cross. Up until the Nazis, it was a positive symbol, not representative of evil and hatred.
