a guys point of view......good question...i have seen men who dont act like men...they wont grow up,so to speak...and i have seen boys(say between 16 & 20)that have taken on the roll as a man...maturity is the key...not age...if you want to be a man, then act like one...but you will find as you grow into a man,you will want to keep a hint of that boy around...stay a boy as long as you can...then be a young man...then a man...but dont ever forget to keep a good grip on that boy inside you...if you loose him you will start to get old...and quickly i might add...be safe dude...be careful...and be forever young...........................

Becoming a man isn't based on a time schedule. It's really a case of when a youngster can assume all the responsibilities an adult would have to assume.
He doesn't automatically become a man when he fathers a child-- this is just a case of biology. But when he takes the responsibility of nurturing & supporting this new life and the life of his partner, then he has earned the right to call himself a MAN. It's really a "state of mind" and acceptance of his own transition into a grown up set of behaviors.

The same time a girl become a woman, you start to be your own person.
Paying your bills taking care of the things that need to be taken care of like car payments, Rent, phone bills, your children if you have any? You stuff that make grown folks grown, all by yourself, no more playing head game and being up front with people.
It’s in no way you start have sex that just means you can get it up and lay it down, that on make you able to do something you couldn't do until you were 13 years old.(for most)
Good luck.

different for evryone, and some never do, and most don't do so completely. it is when you have a fundamental change in how you look at the world. when you take life seriously, when things start to take perspective. can happen from a major experience, like becoming a dad, or from just plain growing out of being a kid. good indicator... when you find more people asking for advice than giving it.

i imagine some adult men not in any respect come out of their boyhood, the position as some boys are born with a want to look after others. an similar is actual with women folk. i imagine it basically comes with maturing, growing to be conscious of alternative's needs, no longer wondering basically of self. that is beautiful to observe this flower in anybody, male or woman.

more philosophy than anything else..........
he doesnt live like a sponge at home, he can drink or decide not to, he shows respect to others and people are starting to respect him as an adult. A man should start to think of himself as part of the world or community
some people act like men at 15 some not until they are in their mid twenties.
i dont like the idea of puberty being the only idea....... a man doesnt do things that alot of people...(alot of us) might do as teens. we view men in religious context, sexual context, sexual maturity, and independence.

NOT when he has sex.
More when mature, independant, responsible for others.
Ie think boys go rock climbing, try and go too far, mess up and need rescuing.
men are older, experienced, mountain rescue protecting the young screw ups like they used to be.
or think martial arts movie... when you can metor your new apprentice

When he behaves like one. When his mental and emotional maturity allow him to act responsibily and unselfishly.
I have plenty of young guy friends who are able to conduct themselves appropriately and witness much behaviour of older guys who don't seem to think through their actions.
