I would be extremely surprised to find out he was involved in any way. I would guess it was a crew member trying to give his team a little boost without considering the ramifications of getting caught. Watching Michael have to answer questions about it all weekend, he was obviously devastated by the whole deal. According to several stories, he was ready to voluntarily withdraw his team from 500 qualifying until Mike Helton spoke with him and basically got him back into race driver mode. I'm quite certain that given what he has on the line here, every MWR car will be gone over with a fine tooth comb from here on out.

no, i don't think he was involved at all. it looks like sabotage to me or someone inside, acting alone. i'm not saying that any team is above cheating, but a fuel additive is easily found. these guys are pros when it coms to enhancing their vehicles without getting caught. i think michael waltrip is one of the good guys out there, and judging by how crushed he looks by all of this...not a cheater.

I'm leaning towards yes...he has a lot riding on this deal...everything...and his absolute Best chance to impress Toy Yoda is Daytona...I think making the race was THAT important.I'm still not 100%.
As for Toy Yoda?...the way I understand it...it wasn't Jet fuel but a component of ROCKET fuel..less common ya think?A company like Toy Yoda might have a bit of that in a lab somewhere...either way it's black eyes for Toy Yoda,Waltrip and NASCAR for the handling of it all...and Waltrip should never have told the story of little Macy asking him why daddy cheated...true or not...leave her out of it Mikey...it didn't win you any points from me.

His pitiful ole'me act-not buying it..u got caught-fess up-admit it and sit out that race-the WHOLE team-owners-banned from the track.....Harsh? Maybe but only way to get it thru to stop the cheating...

No. Why in the world would he start off by doing something like that? But now, he'd better make sure that everyone involved is squeaky clean in the future.

I didn't really see his reaction but I have to believe that any driver with any smarts wouldn't get involved with any type of cheating.

No not at all, I am not a MW or Toyota fan but to do something so easy to find and obvious would take a idiot, sounds more like sabotage to me
